It seems to happen everytime. I frost a cake and my frosting gets cracks in it especially when moving, any ideas. Please help!
What type of support are you using for your cake?
If the support isn't sufficient to provide a stable base, then the b/c is being cracked as the cake layers flex when being moved.
Just about every crusting buttercream will crack once in awhile.
If the board under the cake flexes, because the cake and icing under the crust is still flexible, something has to give. A thicker or less flexible board can help with this.
If the cake under the icing is very moist (think extra flexible) or over filled (think wobbly).........
If the cake vibrates a lot during transport............
Sharon is really helpful, if you message her I'm sure she'd have an answer for you!
How do I find her to message her? It may be the board I am using, but I really need to figure it out, Thanks guys!
Seems like it's the support board. Sharon was very helpful, thanks guys!
