Made some sugar cookies and attached edible images using diluted corn syrup. The corn syrup has left some spots shiny and others not...if I put a layer of clear piping gel over the whole cookie will this make it dry to a consistent shine?

I normally use piping gel and only got splotches when i applied it to fondant. No problems on glace or RI. Vodka sounds like a great idea!

Do you put it right over the image? I just don't want it to bleed the color...

If the image is smaller than my cookie, i'll brush the back of the image with piping gel and then adhere. If the image is going to take up the whole cookie, i brush it straight onto the cookie and then adhere the image.
