I do not have a blender, and therefore I need to know what is a good substitue for strawberry puree. I brought some concentrated frozen jucie cocktail, but I have a feeling that will not do the trick.

It depends on what you want to do with the puree.

In a pinch, I've used strawberry preserves or jelly when I didn't have fresh strawberries, warmed them and added a little lemon juice to tart it up and thin it. You can push the strawberries through a strainer/potato ricer/ food mill to make puree.

Make your sauce, and run it through a strainer.
