Attaching Characters To Cake For Transportation!!!!!

I am making a cake for next weekend for a friend from work.....it is a two tier cake with fondant characters from dora...including dora, swiper and boots....my concern is that she will be picking the cake up....i am using sps so im not worried about the cake itself...im worried about the characters falling off the cake.....are there any tips on how to attach the characters to the cake securely any help will be appreciated

If they are toys then make dots of icing where they are to be placed and keep them separate. If they are small figures you made can you still insert a lolly stick or skewer into them and stick them into the cake securely? If the figures are heavy they should be packed separate and stuck on at the location. Example: Buddy on Cakeboss made a cake and the figures were heavy and they ripped their sticks right through the cake and fell over making a huge mess he had to fix.
