This is one of my favorite bands, The Avett Brothers. They are going to be on Ace of Cakes this Thursday night. I actually went to school with the brothers, Scott and Seth. They started out as a little hometown band and are now known all over the country and the world.

If you like different music, they are a mix of bluegrass, folk and rock.

How cool! Thanks so much for sharing. I always love to be introduced to new music, and this is right up my alley, as my own son plays the guitar, banjo and mandolin.

I listened to their new album on the website, and I think I'll hint for the CD for my birthday next month!

I remember listening to the youngest brother playing Nirvana in the basement of his friend's house where I worked during the summer, babysitting. They've come a very LONG way since then.

My little boys love them too. My oldest used to dance in his carseat when I'd play their CD's.

If you are on facebook they have a fan page and post updates a lot. Not long ago they had one of their CD's available as a free download.
