Does anyone use a Dough Sheeter to roll out their fondant, I am considering purchasing one and wondered if anyone could give me the pro and cons before I make a purchase?

I have an Somerset Fondant Sheeter CDR-600F. I love it. But it is expensive so you need to do a lot of fondant cakes to pay for it.

I talked with a pastry chef and he told me he has always used a dough sheeter. It works well his dough and his fondant. He has never used a separate sheeter for fondant. Thinks they are a waste of money

If you have a business, then buy a sheeter. They are expansive for occasional use. If you want to show your cakes a sheeter will give you consistent thinness. You might want to find a small pastry shop that will let you use theirs.
