I need to make a Spongebob cake for a 12 year old girls birthday. Her mother said she loves Spongebob but is also a girlie-girl so she wants me to combine a theme.

I thought a treasure chest filled with jewels spilling out and Spongebob sitting on the corner of the chest with his friends surrounding the chest might be a good compromise. What I need help with is the best way to make the chest.

I plan on doing a sheet cake with the chest on top as the centerpiece but would welcome any other ideas anyone would have.

Have a look at the treasure chest cake in my photos (it's not fabulous but I did it in about 2 hours!) If you think I can help at all, just PM me. Happy to help if I can.

I love your idea I did a treasure chest out of RKT as a topper for my two grandsons birthday. It turned out kind of like you described.

Thanks for the great ideas. I'll keep your ideas for future use.

The woman requesting this cake sent me the picture of the 4 layer cake she wanted. And then she included she was willing to give me $20.00 towards making it.

I'm still speachless
