Ok.. So how do you charge for a stacked cake, 3-4 tiers high, but only the bottom tier is actually cake? I'm doing a cake for someone who doesn't have many people to feed, but they want height.. So i'm doing a 12 inch round for teh bottom and it will be cake. the top 3 tiers will all be dummys. how should i price this? i usually charge per serving then add teh extras in.. but in this case there's only so many servings, but the decorating is exactly the same..
how do all of you handle this? thanks!!
ps- it's a fondant cake with simple fondant accents
10% discount at most. You still have to decorate. Personally...I think dummies are harder to decorate because there is no weight to them so they move around a lot.
Here's my blog that explains it: http://cateritsimple.blogspot.com/search/label/fake%20cake
Actual cake servings charge full price. Dummy cakes get charged what they would serve if they were real with a 25% discount.
ok cool. thanks everyone! and indydebi, i love your blog! great info in there.. if i weren't hopelessly gay I would ask you to be my cake mistress! lol

Well, I'm ranking that up there as one of my highest compliments!
@ Indydebi - as always, I'm with you. It takes no less time or skill to do a fake cake, therefore should cost no less either!
@ Masturbaker - Hahahahaha! Love your name!! "Mastur-baker!!" Hillarious!!
