OK.. I want to make a domed cake. Cake I just use a stainless steel bowl and bake in it? How would I know how long to bake it for and at what temperature?
FYI: i want a small dome like 6 inches across at the widest part (max).
Any tips/hints are greatly appreciated!
Do you have the wilton ball pan or the 1/2 soccer ball? If so, that would work. If not, you can use a stainless steel bowl and cake release. I would put a upside down flower nail in the centre of the pan (greased, of course with cake release) and that will aid in cooking evenly. I would bake 325 degrees for about 40-45 mins. If you use the small ball pan, then check at 30 mins. That's how I do it and it comes out perfect everytime!
yeah.. I dont have any special pans but I have TONS of SS bowls. I guess I need to get a flower nail today Can I bake without it?
I think if it's a small enough bowl you could bake without the flower nail and be just fine.
