I am making a cowboy hat cake and have the brim of the hat all dried, however there is powdered sugar on it that didn't absorb into the gumpaste and I don't know how to get it off. Any help would be very much appreciated!

You can quickly steam it. If you don't have a steamer you can hold it over a steaming tea kettle.

Brush it with a dry paint brush.

I have tried the dry paint brush and it didn't come off. So I will have to try to hold it over a steaming tea kettle and see what happens. What about brushing lemon juice or vodka over it?

I have tried using vodka, vanilla, or even a tad bit of usually changes the look of it...melting the sugar and making it shiney. Id try the steam first. icon_smile.gif
