Hello, I am going to attempt making my own cupcake tower. I need it to hold a 6" cake on the top and then 50 cupcakes. For those who have made them before, how many tiers do you think I will need? I was thinking a 12", 10" and 8" - would the 12" and 10" be enough to hold 50 cupcakes, or should I add another tier to the tower?

Thank You.

I dont't think that will be enough. If you look at mine in my pictures it is shown with 24 cupcakes but I think I could maybe get 30, but they also have wrappers on them so that probably makes them a little wider, and mine in the picture is 8, 10, 12, 14 inch tiers, but mine is also adjustable so I can add more tiers if I want. To help figure it out I just take cupcake liners and place them onto cake boards to get an idea of how many each tier will hold. But I think you will have to go up to 16 inches for 50 cupcakes plus a cake on top, and the cupcakes would be pretty snug.
