I have never really attempted to do any cookies other than just for fun with the kids and we just put cake icing on them and sprinkles icon_wink.gif I am wanting to make some giraffe cookies for my daughter's bday and want to be able to bag them to hand out to the kids. Any ideas on what icing I should use for this? thanks!

1 batch of royal icing mixed with 1/2 cup of corn syrup = cookie icing.

you have a lot of options!

For an "icing", you can use royal or glace. There are several popular recipes on here (Antonia74's royal icing, Toba Garrett's glace icing, Alice's cookie icing, etc.) that all dry hard enough to stack but not "rock" hard.

here are some threads about roayal and glace...

A lot of people also cover cookies in fondant or rolled butter cream...
