I am attempting to do a sheet cake with a Mickey Mouse clubhouse theme on it. (all done in frosting) I am looking for a frosting recipe that I can use to both frost the cake and decorate with. But i don't want it too sweet. if you want to see what I am trying to attempt here is the link to the cake: http://tv.disney.go.com/playhouse/grown-ups/celebrationcenter/recipes/mmch/recipes5.html

I want a good tasting frosting just not sweet. Please help! Party is Saturday Feb. 6th. Also, any opinions on covering cake in fondant rather than frosting?

Try Tami's buttercream at the baking911.com website. I was unable to post the link.

I don't have separate icings that I ice with and decorate with. icon_confused.gif I use the same icing for everything.

I use IMBC to frost and decorate.

The meringue based buttercreams are usually a little less sweet, but there are some good recipes on this site for American type BC or other frostings that are less sweet tasting.
