Has anybody here used them yet? After you charge the bride do you let her keep them? What happens to them after you have done the cake? Should you charge a rental fee? What about brooches? Do they keep them or rent them out?

Just curious as to what you guys would do or have done for your cakes. Been sitting here all designing dummy cakes with diamonds and got to thinking about this.

Any help would be appreciated.

When I make a cake that needs a nice piece of jewelry I ask the bride if she has a nice piece with sentimental value. They love that the cake has more meaning. Since all of my cakes are dummy (faux) cakes I buy the stones and keep them after the cake is rented out and returned.

I don't rent anything except cupcake stands... everything I use gets worked into the price of the cake and they can do with it whatever they wish when the party's over. Too much of a waste of time and money to have to track deposits on little things like that.
