As a Red Sox fan I am having great difficulty doing this.....

...just kidding....

But please, how can I reach a real Navy Blue? Starting with plain buttercream.....I have Americolor colors and a few Wiltons but I can't seem to get it right...it's either too blue (on the bright side) or it turns gray......any advice?

Thanks!

I have a color mixing chart that I got from Candy land Crafts . com (should be written all together, but I was afraid it would get blocked.) that uses Chefmaster colors.

I use Americolors but the combinations work fine with them. According to the chart, to make navy blue you use one part sky blue to one part violet.

Hope this works for you.

I just finished a Chicago Bears cake that needed navy as well. It took me a while to get it right. I mixed Royal blue with Black. Since it took so much color, it didn't look right til it sat for half and hour. Hope this helps!

Thank you all! Patience (letting it sit) is likely something I need more of! icon_lol.gif
