I've got a red vevlet recipe that I've made in the past and it's incredible. Well, I've been trying to make it now four or fives tries and I cant firgure out what I'm doing wrong! It keeps sinking and the texture is a bit different. What the heck could I be doing wrong here??! Help!
I'm not sure without knowing anything about your recipe. Are you using anything different - I mean ANY THING? Are any fats, liquids, etc. different types or brands that may have been changed since you last made this?
are you still following the recipe exactly? did you change the brand of any of your ingredients?
Maybe your baking powder/soda is expired. Even if not expired, it may be not working.
ooh, I'll hafta check on the baking soda! maybe that could be it. I'm just so frustrated and wasted so many materials trying to get back to where I already was!
I'd be willing to bet it was the levening not working properly. I've been through that before myself.
k Im gonna go out and buy some new stuff tomorrow and persevere!
