I'm icing a 3-tier cake for tomorrow...first one...

Do I cover the cake board for the upper tiers or just put the cake directly on the cardboard?

if it's a wax coated cardboard then you can just put it directly on, if it's just a regular piece of cardboard with no wax, then you need to cover it.
