A bride wants me to do her a 3 tier cake with piped pearls scattered on them and their initials on each one with a gold ribbon. I have decided to do a border around the initials so it has a sort of broach effect. I can't decide whether to pipe pearls around this border with the initials in the centre (so it goes with the rest of the piped pearls on the cake) OR to have scrolls and overpiping. I don't know whether the scrolls will clash with the pearls on the cake as scrolls are quite traditional while pearls are modern. The bride wants to provide the cake topper - she wants a comical bride and groom with a ball and chains. Should I stick with just pearls or add some scrolls?

I think I'd just go with the pearls. I'd be afraid that with the scrolls, pearls and a comical cake topper it might look like too much. That's just my thought.

For continuity I would use pearls instead of scrolls.
