I'm looking for a scratch white (non-WASC) cake recipe and am going nuts looking for one in the recipes section. I want to be able to carve and stack the cake too.

Thanks for your help!!!

I love the Cooks Illustrated white cake recipe. It has a nice flavor, good crumb, and it always rises well for me. Here is a link to a blog that has the recipe.

We did a great "Scratch-off" yellow/white cake thread last year -http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-633981-.html

I personally prefer the Rebecca Rather White-on-White buttermilk cake, it's to DIE for! It is my go-to white cake and I have several friends who've stated it's the best cake they've ever eaten. thumbs_up.gif

http://cakecentral.com/recipes/6865/buttermilk-white-cake My go to recipe. I sell this more than any other flavor. icon_smile.gif Cream that butter and sugar until it is fluufy, almost doubled in volume and very pale.
