Do you want a frosting, or a vanilla custard type filling?

For frosting, regular vanilla buttercream with your favorite vanilla extract. If you want to get extra fancy, you can store a bent vanilla bean with your sugar to infuse it with vanilla flavor. You can add vanilla beans (scraped from a pod or vanilla bean paste from a bottle) to your BC as well.

As for vanilla custard/pastry cream:

For an easy faux Bavarian:
1 4 oz pkg vanilla or French vanilla flavored instant vanilla pudding mix
1 c whole milk
1 c heavy whipping cream, whipped OR 1 c of Cool Whip (regular, not extra creamy or reduced fat)
Blend milk and pudding mix together until creamy. Fold in whipped cream or Cool Whip.
If a lighter product is desired, increase whipped cream or Cool Whip to 2 cups

You're welcome! Just remember, because it does contain dairy, it must be refrigerated.
