Can someone please tell me if I can airbrush imbc/smbc?

I airbrushed a cake iced in SMBC yesterday. I put it in the fridge overnight and took it out this morning. It came out perfectly fine.

I think it must be because it is winter, and so dry inside right now. I wouldn't try that in any other season. I did an airbrushed skate board cake and it was so cute!!! I popped it in the fridge for the next day and when i took it out, it still looked great, but then about an hour later I saw it and the airbrushing had bubbled up and ran. It looked awful, thank God the cake was a gift.
