I wanted to make some Rice Krispy Treat kisses for Valentine's Day. The kind where you use a huge funnel and shape the RKT into a "Hershey Kiss" shape and then wrap with foil. The only problem is that lately when I shape RKT, they are really hard or stale tasting. I don't believe the marshmallows or the RKT are stale so I don't know why this is happening. I read somewhere that heating the marshmallows too fast and too high could cause this. Any other ideas? Any suggestions on how to make sure these will taste fresh? TIA!

Heat ONLY until melted at low heat. Do not overheat--- think crackle candy (high temperature)= stale/ hard

Thanks for your advice. I'll try melting at a lower temperature and slowly. (Guess I'm being too impatient) icon_wink.gif
