I need to make clouds for a cake I'm working on. I was going to use cotton candy, but that isn't working. Is it possible to make RI clouds on top of the cake (fondant covered) and then have the clouds extend out beyond the edge of the cake? I was thinking I could have parchment/wax paper under the extended part and something supporting it until dry. What do you think?

Probably it would be easiest if you piped them on waxed paper, let them dry and then stuck them on the cake.
