Is there such a thing? I am doing this on paper right now, very organized but it would be so much better to have it calculate for me. Maybe I'll try and make my own... icon_confused.gif

Do I need "Quattro" to build/use a Mattrix? I currently do not have it.

Thank you for your time. icon_smile.gif

I'd like to help, but I haven't got a clue what you're talking about.

Are you looking for an on-line tool to help you determine costs?

If this is what I think it is - a matrix that tells you how much of each ingredients for "x" size cake or type of cake, I think this would be a fabulous thing to have. I've never seen such a thing so don't know where to point you for assistance, but I think you have a terrific idea there.

Well, that sounds like the Bakers Percentage. A formula, slightly difficult to comprehend until you hit the "aha" moment. After that, it's easy. Been around for literally more than a hundred years.

I'm sorry for not explaining that. icon_redface.gif
I took for granted people would recognize Matrix, since there's one at the top of this thread... oops.

Deb~ Yeah, I meant pricing matrix... I was able to view one of the stickies here (no longer can??) but as I remember they were built for mix bakers. Very well done/impressive. I wouldn't mind *trying* to build my own scratch matrix, but I'm not sure what programs I'd need (excel or quattro?) icon_confused.gif

I've never heard of "Baker's Percentage". Maybe I'll look into that.

Thank you. icon_smile.gif

I'm not ready to invest in a program like that *just yet*, maybe later in the year. Cake Boss is a wonderful deal considering all it has, but I just can't afford it right now. I'm sure I'll purchase it when I can.

Thank you.

Alice's Matrix would work if you know Excel... there's a sticky at the top of the forum, and you can email her and she'll send it along. icon_smile.gif
