hi im lucky enough to be going to hawaii and las vegas in march ( 60th birthday present ) does anyone know of any cake decorating supply shops in either place, we are going to a few places in hawaii as we are cruising and it would be nice to see if if there are any different things than we have here in the uk. thanks
Hi! Lucky you! Sounds like a fun trip! We have a small but good cake supply shop here in Henderson, Nevada (about 25 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip). The name of the store is Tempting Treasures by Jan. It is on Water Street. I don't remember the exact address right now, but if you PM me I can get you directions.
thanks beth will do
Chef Rubber 4415 W Sunset Rd. Las Vegas, NV 702-614-9350
lots of goodies here, every time I get up to Vegas I check them out and order online as well.
Sur La Table in the Miracle Mile Mall at Planet Hollywood on the strip in Las Vegas. Kill 2 birds with one stone. Great kitchen store Great hotel and casino.
Like already mentioned, check out Tempting Treasures by Jan at Henderson (really close to Vegas), Chef Rubber in Las Vegas, Sur la Table at Miracle Miles Shops and Las Vegas Gourmet for your ingredients (fondant, couverture, etc)
Tempting Treasures is a small place but she has nice things. She has a few flower cutters, some lace molds, trims, basic supplies and lots of candy making supplies. Many of her things are pretty expensive though. Oh and drop by Chef Flemming's, he has some good pastries.
Chef Rubber in the other hand is one of my favorite places to shop. Hundreds of molds, a few scroll cutters and thousands of other things related to pasties.
Sur La Table is pretty expensive. I never really shop there. LV Gourmet sells fondant for 60 for a 20 pound bucket.
Thanks to you all, i can see my hubby being well pleased at the places of interest i want to see
While you're here, maybe we can all try to drinks/coffee one night!!
Everything is really expensive in Hawaii because they have to fly everything to them. You may not want to even try to find a place there. Las Vegas is probably your best bet.
Sounds like a great trip. I hope you have a lot of fun!!
