Is it possible to make a wine bottle cake, (fondant wine bottle on a crate) and the crate would be the cake, out of ice cream.

My customer wants an ice cream cake and sponge cake mix but wants it decorated like the wine bottle and crate cakes here on CC.

Not sure if it is possible. I am thinking I can and make the bottle out of chocolate but then they would no be able to display it. also how would I decorate it. I wouldn't be able to use fondant.

I have never make ice cream cake so I have alot of concerns.

My understanding of how to do an ice cream cake is that you have to let the ice cream get really soft to where you can spread it into the pan, and then refreeze it. Unless you have a wine glass shaped pan, I'm not really sure how you could do that. Maybe make the crate the ice cream cake?
