Oh I cannot link to sugarc. ?
I don't know if it's a lotus flower, I called it a water lily, but I made this recently for an Asian themed birthday cake.

Let me know if you would like help.
tinygoose, your water lily is perfect and maybe that is what I am looking for.I guess I really thought the lotus and water lily were the same thing! Anyway yes, I would greatly appreciate the secret to making one! RosieC
Nicholas Lodge has instructions in his book on gumpaste flowes. You might be able to get it from the library. This link shows a waterlily made by his student (i think)
the difference btwn the lotus and w/lily is the center.

Girl, those are absolutely STUNNING! What a fabulous job you did on everything...very impressive!
I wish I could take the credit for making those beautiful flowers but alas they are NOT mine. I don't know who the talented person is, I just happened to come across the site while searching gumpaste flowers.
Here is a tutlorial: http://www.cakesbydesign.cc/MetalCuttersAtoB.html
Click on the PDF file and you will see the tutorial on there.
Good luck.
