Is it true that you should use a denser cake like pound cake when doing fondant? That way it holds the shape better and doesn't collapse under the weight of the fondant? If so, anyone have some good recipes? I want to do a coconut cake and a chocolate one for a cake I am doing for my fathers bday. Thanks!
You can use fondant on any butter cake. Fondant doesn't work as well on foam cakes, such as angel food, sponge, chiffon, genoise.
