It's probably a lot easier then I think, but how is this made..not the whole design of the cake, but how the top is done see how it hangs over? Are you suppose to measure the cake first, then cut & try as hard as possible to lay it on straight? Any help would be appreciated! thank ladies!

Do you mean how it looks like frosting over the top sides of the cake? Or do you mean how the slice of cake sits on top of the cut cake?

Thats what I thought, but I wanted to be sure. You have the concept right. Roll out some fondant, take a cake board or pan the size of the cake your going to lay it on, take a pizza cutter, exacto knife, something sharp, and cut a wavy circle a couple of inches bigger then the cake pan/circle, center it on top of your cake that is all ready covered with fondant. HTH

To me it looks like they did the colored sides first with fondant then came back with the white on the top and had it overlay the colored part.
