I am working on my hamantaschen plans for the year and I really want to make my own fillings. They need to be ovensafe and thick enough not to run out everywhere when the cookie bakes. I'm open to any type filling except poppy seed and prune! icon_wink.gif

Thanks everyone,
Kathi

Maybe apricot preserves might work? I love hamantaschen! (I have never made them myself, so my suggestion has not been personally tested.) icon_wink.gif

Apricot is actually quite good. I will probably buy preserves if I can't get some scratch filling recipes.

You should try to make some, they're easy and then it becomes like an addiction finding new and interesting ideas! icon_lol.gif

The epicurious recipe suggests date orange filling or apple raisin filling! Both sound yummy.
