Is anyone willing to share a tried and true servings size chart for each tier? And do you charge differently for wedding cakes vs say birthday cakes? TIA

I like to use Earlene Moore's serving chart as the pieces are calculated a bit bigger. Many use the Wilton chart.Wedding cakes and birthday cakes I would charge the exact same price..It doesn't matter what occasion it is for it is still the same amount of work.

Here's the wilton weddign chart that I use to determine pricing:
http://www.wilton.com/wedding/wedding-cakes/wedding-cake-data.cfm

They can cut the cake in half and serve it with 2 forks if they want, but my price is based on servings sizes from this chart.

Here's a cutting method to achieve these servings: http://www.wilton.com/wedding/wedding-cakes/wedding-cake-data.cfm

Here's pics of cut pieces of cake, 1x2x4, so you can see that they are not paper thin (which is what most people think when they hear the words "one inch"):

Thank you for posting your pics, Indy! Now that I have a visual (in cake)... the pieces don't look small at all thumbs_up.gif
