I'm having trouble w/icing sugar cookies... Lt blue tee's w/dark brown spots... The brown bleeds into the blue and ruins what are adorable cookies! What am I doing wrong.
Happened to me too.CCer suggested to stiffen up your icing a tad,but not to much or the spots will sink which is a pretty cool effect too.
It does help a little bit to add some brite white to your icing. I use Americolor brand. Anytime you have light and dark together, bleeding is a possibility, unfortunately.
Are you allowing ample dry time?
