Hello CC folks!

I'm throwing a surprise party for my husband and making his b-day cake. Since I can't ask him what he would like, and he doesn't have an absolute favorite, I'd like your opinion. I'm overwhelmed by the combinations of cake flavors I can make....

I am making a cigar humidor cake and will be covering it in dark chocolate ganache and satin ice fondant. With that in mind, what would be your favorite cake and filling combination? (also, I'm going to be making the cake 2 days ahead of time)

and if you can tell me the recipe title so I can look it up I would appreicate that too

Not really a recipe but I made a dark choco cake and filled it with choco buttercream (light layer) topped with apricot preserves...it was a HUGE hit!

It's simple but Vanilla cake with a little strawberry filling and vanilla BC...Chocolate cake with choco-hazelnut BC is good too...

Chocolate Mud cake with choc hazelnut (nutella) filling!
