i have a cake customer who wants a cake from a picture she found on the internet. I am not an expert in fondant although I love doing it! I am not sure how to make a horse out of fondant and should i add gumpaste? how would i add gumpaste? how would i do the hair? would buttercream on the hair be better? I do not know who made this cake but it is really cute.
Thanks for your help!

not exactly the same horse, but will give you an idea

hair could be buttercream, royal or fondant using clay gun or garlic press.

Thank you!! I never got an email about your reply! I got one of Debbie Brown's cake books from the library, and she had instructions on making a my littly pony. I like the idea of a garlic press, and this blog will be a lot of help. Thanks!!

I use gum paste for animals, but guess fondant will work. I get the mane/hair effect using one of the cheap clay press guns. These cheap ones are hard on your fingers, but you really don't have a lot of hair/mane. Use a toothpick to help hold the head in place. And be glad this horse is laying down! icon_smile.gif Good luck.
