I'm making my cousins wedding cake and I will be piping on a few layers. I have decorated a bit in the past but I have yet to find a good buttercream that pipes on well and doesn't clump. I've also noticed that after a while it gets really heard and crumbles off. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for the help!

I love the recipe for Buttercream Dream here on CC. I've recently started using heavy cream in place of the milk and have found it to be much nicer to use (and tastier, too!). HTH

Thank you! For your help ladies! I've purchased the dvd, the wedding is still coming up so I will post a pic of the cake...it's my first wedding cake, to see how I did with the buttercream. Thanks for the help!

Switch from criscocream to real buttercream and make either IMBC or SMBC.
