Textured Effect?

I love this effect with the textured or stucco-like look. Is it sponged on or just brushed on? How do I acheive this look?

Are you talking about the tops of each tier - the colored areas? It looks to me like some silver was sponged on. Beautiful cake!

Yes, the colored parts where it's kind of that aged effect. So do you think it's just solid color and then silver dust applied on top of that? If so, do you think the silver is dry dust? thanks!!!

I'm in love with this cake!

I don't think it is a dry dust. Looks more like a paint mixture sponged on.

Yes - exactly. Silver dust mixed with vodka then sponged on.

Maybe I am wrong but looks to me like is sponged in super pearl white.
