Hi Everyone I wanted to let you know how I bake my cookies on a stick without having to deal with the stick during decoration.

What I do is very simple I use 2 sizes of wooden sticks. I bake my cookies with a short thin wooden stick (very inexpensive at any supermarket). Once the cookies are cold I remove the stick from the cookie. That way I don't have the stick in the middle when decorating.

Once I decorated my cookies and I am ready to do my arrangement I insert the thick and longer wooden stick on the whole previously made. Then put my cookie on a bag and tie it, that's it. I still have a cookie on a stick without the hedache of decorating my cookie with it.

Another advantage is that since you baked your cookie with a thin wooden stick and then you inset a thicker one your cookie won't move at all. Also the thin wooden sticks are way easier to insert on your dough prior to bake and you won't need to roll your dough super thick.

This is the easiest thing for me I don't like my cookies to show the stick on the bag.

Hmmmmm. VERY INTERESTING! I'm going to give it a try - I usually glue sticks to the bag, but I'd like more stability if possible. Question - by the thin sticks at the grocery store - do you mean the sticks for shish kabobs that are pointed on one end?

Not sure if anyone is interested but I started making cookies without the stick at all, when I wrap the cookies in the bag I just secure a wooden stick to the back of the back and they hold up exactly without the annoyance of a stick while baking and decorating.

cookiemeister: Yes those are the sticks I use all the time. I just didn't know the actual name of them. Give it a try it's much better ans it looks more professional than the method where you glue the stick to the bag and also less time consuming.

Bamboo skewers? Cool. Good thought. The cookies don't split or break at all when you insert the bigger stick?

No they won't break. When you bake them with the thin stick you will notice the whole is wider than the stick so there is room for you to insert the thick stick without a problem. ( just me sure you don't use an extra wide stick)

Btw, your giant bows on the front of your bouquets are beautiful. Do you make them or buy them?

They are so gorgeous and make a nice presentation. Have you seen anywhere online where they sell something similar? Is it easy to make yourself?

I have no idea if they are sold online. You should find out if you have a floral supply in your area because they ursually have them. It was easy for me to make it and I didn't even used any special tool or anything.

Do you have to wet the sick? I am worried that it will burn in the oven. I have not made cookies on a stick before and I would really like to but I am worried about the stick
