Can I use merinue powder in the place of egg whites in a cake mix? It bothers me to throw away all those yolks.
I don't know the direct answer to your question, but you can buy whites only products in the dairy section, or dried egg whites through a food storage company.
I have found my answer and it is no. The cake was very spongy and fell apart. But it did taste good if you like crumbles.
I use whole eggs, yolk and all, in my mixes, yes even in white cakes that call for whites only. They're not quite as bright snow white, more of an ivory or vanilla color but they taste so much better, more homemade, in my opinion anyway
