I just made Antonia's royal icing and misread the cream of tartar to be 1TBSP instead of 1 TSP! Can I fix this somehow? I can't start over as I don't have any extra icing sugar and need to make these poinsettias tonight! OUCH!
Does it look okay? Honestly.. if it looks okay I think you'll be fine. I know if you add too much to cooked items it will make things hard, not sure it it will do the same with the royal icing, but I don't see that being a huge problem.
Yup! Looked OK and consistency didn't seem to be affected. Only difference is in taste... tasted a bit "tarty"...
you could always add some lemon juice and play up the tartiness.. "yeah... it was supposed to be that way!" heheheh
