I have just covered a cake board in sugarpaste. Now my dilemma is this..... I cover the cake with sugarpaste off the cake board - right??? and then how do I lift cake onto board????

cut a board the same size as your cake pan. wrap ir with plastic wrap and then place your cake on this board ice and cover with sugar paste. then place the covered cake on the covered board.

I use a cake lifter (like a big pancake spatula) to slide under the cake(which is on a circle) and put it on my cake drum. If the cake is on a cake circle, there is no need to cover with plastic wrap. (plus plastic wrap pieces could get in cake when it is cut)

thanks!! you have given me a good idea.... the board is a large rectangle one and the cake is round.... what ill do is, put cake on round board of same size and cover board and all!!

opops .. i forgot about the plastic wrap getting cut into ... what I usually use is the white plastic circles and cut them to size if needed.
