IM DOING A CAKE FOR MY SISTER IN LAWS BIRTHDAY- HER MOM ASKED FOR A CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH CHERRY FILLING. SHE SAID TO JUST USE THE CHERRY PIE FILLING, BUT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THAT WOULD TURN OUT-OR IF IT WOULD TASTE GOOD.
IF YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR USING THE PIE FILLING OR HAVE A DIFFERENT RECIPE I WOULD APPRECIATE IT!
I HAD ALSO THOUGHT OF MAYBE FINDING A CHOCOLATE CHERRY CAKE RECIPE AND FILLING WITH GANACHE...BUT I HAVENT FOUND ANYTHING YET. TIA!!
You'll be fine using cherry pie filling as it is pretty similar to canned cake fillings or even the sleeved pastry fillings (although there's not much real fruit in these).
Chocolate cake would be a good match for the cherry filling; I would use the ganache for frosting. But that JMHO.

P.S. It's normally considered "shouting" to use all caps in your posts. I find it difficult to read.
I have used cherry pie filling for a chocolate cake. I did put the filling in a strainer to get more cherries and less juice/mixture(?) and put that in between the layers as filling. Yum!
That would be a good match. I had a bride order one of her cakes a Cherry cake with chocolate pudding filling. We did a tasting to be sure that was what she really wanted. She said it reminded her of a chocolate covered cherry, and that was what she was going for.
A little bit of almond extract in the cherrry filling is one of my favorite things with the chocolate--mmm.
