When I was little there was a local bakery down the street from me that my parents used to buy really good butter cookies. I'm trying to find a recipe that makes something similar in shape and taste. The cookies were about the size of a half dollar with sprinkles baked in around the sides with a swirl of icing on top. You could eat the entire cookie in one bite.

I've been looking around the internet for a butter cookie recipe with sprinkles and swirl icing and I haven't found anything (even a picture) that looks like what I remember as a kid. Has anyone ever heard of these cookies? Is there another name for these kinds of cookies that I'm not thinking of?

Any help would be appreciated!

remember butter cookies come in all shapes and sizes, and decorations - you might be seeing the 'right' recipe, just decorated a different way.
sounds like you would roll a thin sausage of cookie dough in sprinkles, then bake. sounds pretty actually!
