I started decorating cakes in Oct 2008. Was good at baking but couldn't ice a cake to save my life. Took the Wilton course one that Oct and made a poinsettia cake for a pot luck at work. This year I made a tiered cake for the pot luck.

Definately need more practice to refine things but I feel really good about how far I've come.

Cake Central has been a huge help. Thanks to everyone who posts and responds to posts.

I know what you mean...I keep a picture of the Lego man cake I made for my son one year ago last week to help me not get discouraged. I've never had a course but I've spent plenty of time here on CC and I've scoured utube for free lessons! Keep up the good work!

I still can't ice a cake but thanks to the melvira method and the viva method I can pull off the illusionicon_smile.gif
