I am making a male torso cake and want some ideas on how to make the abs. I have lots of cakes but still am a little confused on what to do. Please help. Thank you.

well, when I made a sponge bob once and needed the wavy sides, instead of carving, I just laid on the icing really thick and then covered in fondant and "squooshed" the icing around under the fondant to get the wavy sides.

so, could put do the same on the top of the cake -- extra icing, fondant, squoosh. (and then a little "makeup" -- icing color -- painted on to accent them????)
