I want to make sugar cookies but don't have brandy or milk. I have Jim Bean whisky, dark rum, amaretto and frangelico. What can I use as a substitute?

I've never heard of a sugar cookie recipe that uses brandy, but my bet for a substitute would be rum, although the amaretto or frangelico would be good too. I don't think i'd use the whisky, but that's just me.

Do you have any evaporated or powdered milk? You could mix up and use either of those. I keep them both on hand, just in case.

I use Martha Stewart's sugar recipe.

Of course Martha would have alcohol in her cookie recipe! icon_biggrin.gif. I'd go w/ the rum or maybe 1/2 rum and 1/2 amaretto depending on how much is called for.

What recipe are you guys using? I've only seen the popular frosting recipe on this board.
