Can you decorate a cake partially frozen? I took it our of the freezer a while ago and it is still frozen.

Do any of you make a sugar syrup and put it on the cake before you put the frosting, I just want to make sure it is moist enough.

Thank you for the help

I have decorated many cakes partially frozen..The only thing I found is that when I went to poke a fondant loop into the cupcake or cake it wilted from the condensation but otherwise decorating it was fine...

Do you mean add a syrup before covering in fondant?? some do..I don't and it is still moist.

Thank you for the response, I am doing a buttercream frosting and I usually put some kind of filling, but the customer only wants buttercream filling. Should I put a sugar sryup on the layer then put the buttercream for the filling?
