Are the two different for use as a cake filling? I've made for pie and was wondering if that works for cake? May need to use jello pie filling for ease but even that requires work. No store around for curd in a jar.

I have a time issue for preparation - barely time to ask the question - because I have an addition of 4 foster boys from 1 to 6 that arrived yesterday - 3 in diapers, and very emotional.

thanks

Never used meringue. But you can use lemon curd as a filling for lemon cake. Or you can mix the lemon curd with your normal buttercream and use that as a filling too. icon_smile.gif

I use lemon pie filling all the time! Works great! I do modify the filling recipe by adding an extra tablespoon of cornstarch to help thicken it even more. I use the Betty Crocker Lemon Meringue pie recipe. You can make orange, lime or pineapple filling using that recipe too - just use the correct juice and zest. Hope that helps!
