Chocolate Mousse Filling...does The Cake Have To Be

refrigerated at all times up until it's served once it is decorated?

I'm making a yellow cake with a chocolate mousse filling for this weekend. It will be covered with buttercream and fondant. I want to decorate Friday night to deliver on Saturday, but was wondering if it would be safe to be left out until the party Saturday morning once I finish it Friday night.

Are there different versions of chocolate mousse filling (whereas one could be left out but another must be refrigerated)?

If the mousse has milk products, or eggs I'd recommend refrigeration. A few hours won't hurt it, but the client will probably leave it out for the party. So, keep it in the fridge, just to be safe.
