Does anyone have a tried and true crusting chocolate buttercream recipe?
Also, any recommendations for a frosting to put on spice cake (any yummy recipes for that?)? I was thinking some sort of confectioner's sugar glaze.
My most requested crusting chocolate BC is a variation of Sugarshacks BC - My recipe amounts are intended for a KA that is 25+ years old. I used 4 cups of shortening and 4 lbs minus 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 cup sifted Hershey's Special Dark cocoa, Belgian Chocolate Toffee Creamer - hot, 2 bars semisweet chocolate - melted, 2 oz unsweetened chocolate - melted. I followed the directions for sugarshacks BC, adding the melted chocolate to the wet ingredients. I added the cocoa before the sugar so it would mix evenly as this amount of ingredients is the max my KA will take.
