A friends daughter is throwing a party for her birthday and requested a Grey Goose Vodka bottle cake. I am hoping to be a bit ambitious and do a standing up bottle. The plan is to have three 8" tiers stacked on top of eachother and the remainder of the bottle be made from RKT.
I was ordered to SPS system today (forgive me if I'm throwing out the wrong name....its the lower priced one) and planned to use that as internal support, but I am still pretty nervous. Can you tell me how you would approach the internal structure of the cake?
Also, I wanted to mix the fondant with modeling clay. I ordered several pounds of the Merkens white wafers. I see it used constantly on cake shows, but can find it anywhere to order...are they making it?...or is there a source to purchase it from.
Any other tips would be helpful. I'd really like to pull this off.
Thx,
Toni
